REST
Sounds simple to just shut yourself off and rest for a while, doesn’t it? It’s actually one of the hardest things to do in our current society. Everyone can contact you through a plethora of media at any given time of the day, so really taking the time to actively block out all those impulses and enjoy the simple things in life is probably one of the best things you can do if you want to reduce your stress levels.
LOOK AT YOUR TO-DO LIST
We all have too much stuff on our plate. Every single one of us. A great way to reduce your stress levels is to – you probably guessed it by now – get stuff off your plate. Some of the things that you thought were important or needed to get done three months ago may not be so important right now. Maybe the thing that seemed like a life-or-death crisis is now suddenly just a minor inconvenience. Contexts change all the time, and so do our priorities.
HAVE FUN
If you’re gonna be cutting down on your free time and doing something active, at least do something fun. Go to a social happening, join a party, go to a concert… Sure, it’s a hassle and it pretty much takes your entire evening hostage, but at least it’s an activity that lets you unwind for a short while. Life is rarely perfect, but it can often be great if you let it.
