Movies and TV shows can be iconic for many reasons. Sometimes they propose an idea that’s very unique, sometimes the dialogues are written very uniquely, and sometimes the characters just have an insane amount of chemistry between them. This leads to some of the most memorable couples who ever been blessed with on the silver screen.
Since the start of a new year is as good time as any to look back into the past, let’s dig up some of these iconic couples and see what they’re doing now.
KRISTEN STEWART AND ROBERT PATTINSON (EDWARD CULLEN AND BELLA SWAN – TWILIGHT)
Okay, full disclosure: Twilight wasn’t good at all. This couple didn’t have much on-screen chemistry (despite being an actual couple at the time) because the movie they were in was a pipin’ hot mess. Pattinson has barely aged a day and gets to be Batman soon, while Stewart doesn’t look, feel or sound like she did when she was in Twilight and has developed herself into a great actress.
HARRISON FORD AND KAREN ALLEN (INDIANA JONES AND MARION RAVENWOOD – INDIANA JONES)
As much as we all loved Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher in Star Wars, the most iconic couple he was ever a part of was in that other LucasArts property: Indiana Jones. Going from the very first Indiana Jones movie up until the most recent one (yes, the one with aliens), Marion has always been the perfect woman for everyone’s favorite college professor. And just look at how gracefully these two have aged, it’s hard to believe there’s over 30 years between these pictures!
TOM HANKS AND ROBIN WRIGHT (FORREST GUMP AND JENNY CURRAN – FORREST GUMP)
I doubt there was ever a couple in movies that was more sweet and innocent than these two. If this is the first time you’re noticing that Jenny from Forrest Gump is in fact none other than Claire Underwood from House of Cards, you’re not alone. And I doubt a movie icon like Tom Hanks even needs an introduction at this point. He’s a treasure on and off screen.
JOHN STAMOS AND LORI LOUGHLIN (JESSE AND BECKY – FULL HOUSE)
Full House was one of the biggest shows back in the late 80’s, and these two played no small part in its success. They looked amazing on screen and were everyone’s favorite couple back in the day. Both actors have done a bunch of TV work over the years, and were naturally a huge part of the recent Fuller House, which acts as a direct sequel to the original show.
